Parent Coaching
Parenting a child who is struggling with their mental health, school attendance, or self-esteem can feel overwhelming. You want to help, but you might be unsure how and sometimes, you just need someone in your corner.
Parent coaching offers a safe, non-judgmental space where you can gain support, tools, and confidence to strengthen your relationship with your child and better support their needs.
Parenting can be one of the most rewarding experiences but also one of the hardest. When your child is struggling with their mental health, school attendance, or self-esteem, it’s natural to feel overwhelmed, isolated, or unsure of the best way to help.
As a parent of a child who has faced challenges such as emotional-based school avoidance, anxiety, and low self-esteem, I know how tough it can be. I also know how important it is to have someone alongside you — to listen without judgement, and to help you find a way forward.
Why Parent Coaching?
Sometimes it isn’t the child who needs coaching first it’s the parent. After all we should be putting on our oxygen masks first, right? You may want coaching to:
- Build a stronger, calmer relationship with your child
- Learn new ways to support their confidence and self-esteem
- Understand how to approach issues like anxiety, school avoidance, or rejection sensitivity
- Feel more equipped to manage your own emotions while supporting theirs
- Develop strategies that bring more connection and less conflict at home
Parent coaching is not about telling you what you’re doing “wrong.” It’s about supporting and recognising that there is no one right way to parent and giving you the tools and confidence to find what works best for your family.
My Approach
I offer a safe, non-judgmental space where you can talk openly about your experiences, challenges, and worries. Together, we’ll look at practical strategies to support your child and to support you as a parent.
Sometimes the focus is on your child having coaching. Sometimes it’s about you gaining insight and skills. Often, it’s both. What matters is finding the right balance for your situation.
The Outcome
Through parent coaching, you can:
- Feel calmer and more confident in your parenting
- Gain clarity on how to respond in difficult situations
- Strengthen your connection with your child
- Learn practical tools to support your child’s wellbeing
- Feel less alone in the journey
There’s no perfect parent — but with the right support, you can feel empowered, equipped, and hopeful.
